For me, music is the medium with which to express emotions in the most direct way. When I’m listening to a song, it suddenly touches me somewhere inside of me. But why? Is it because of the minor chords? And what’s left of that magic, if you can’t hear the music? In my research, I came across a deaf rapper from Berlin. I wanted to meet with Kathrin Wole aka Deaf Kat Night in the hopes an answer. How did she discover the music? And how does she sense the vibrations of it? What are the inspirations for her lyrics? I was her guest, and I watched her writing process in the recording studio.
