Helmut is celebrating his 60th birthday. He ́s actually only turning 57, but his wife Gertrud has got her maths wrong. While the facade of petit-bourgeois domesticity is gradually flaking, old friends come by and offer some well- meaning advice - a bizarre declaration of love to transience.
